Tully App — platform was developed by artists, managers, music publishing and record company executives. Tully App is a blueprint for the entrepreneur artist to successfully operate in today’s music industry.

Founded by artists, managers, music publishing and record company executives, Truly platform has digitized and open sourced the music industry mechanism, giving artists transparency over all aspects of their creative and revenue streams.

Challenge

Design and develop web app. Redesign and relaunch mobile app. Being designed for almost a year in several iterations by different people, the app’s UI struggled in inconsistency and unintuitive navigation. With more and more features to be added soon, it became evident that both UX and UI needed considerable updates.

New platform sections such as structured asset storage, artist management platform (AMP), templated industry contracts were to be designed from scratch to become natural parts of the existing app.

Discovery

After interviews with stakeholders we identified the main user groups and summarized their experience into two proto-personas which helped to define potential features and directions for improving current user experience.

Design System

All the elements of the existing mobile app were carefully examined and classified to become a basis for the design system. Component library with detailed descriptions in Sketch combined with Storybook environment helped designers and front-end developers collaborate and save a huge amount of time on design and implementation.

Mobile and Web

Mobile Create & Studio mode allows to write, record, mix, import audio and leverage premium quality production from Truly’s stable of producers.
Several new features were added to the current implementation, such as Rhyming, Play&Record and Looping.
