Gâteau au Yaourt

Gâteau au yaourt is a classic French yogurt cake — simple, moist, and slightly tangy. It’s often one of the first cakes French kids learn to bake because it’s so easy and doesn’t require fancy equipment.

Ingredients:

240g plain flour
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt

230g yogurt
200g sugar
2 large eggs
120ml (100g) neutral oil
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Zest of 1 lemon (optional)

 1. Preheat the oven:
Adjust the oven rack to the middle position and preheat the oven to 175°C (350°F).
